Found a New Church Home
by Jason and Charity
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

1 John 4:7-8

Moving to Milwaukee was a unique experience for the both of us. Charity, having grown up here, had no problems integrating back into Milwaukee life and showing this “Chicago transplant” the ropes. I’d always liked Milwaukee from what I learned from my visits here, but a church home was never a part of the itinerary. We were regular attendees of a church back in Naperville, IL. The issue was the fact that we weren’t pointed towards having an actual relationship with God, and didn’t have the drive to seek Him ourselves. Moving not only ended our Chicagoland residence, but our church attendance as well. Months turned into a year, and God began to get a hold of our hearts once again. We began to look for a church home. It’s amazing how many different kinds of churches are out there. But in all the variety and things to offer people, there was one missing common denominator: the love of Christ.

Charity and I just didn’t have peace about where we should be. On a whim, we did a web search for churches in the Milwaukee area. It was there we first saw the name of Faith Baptist Church of Greater Milwaukee and decided to try it out. Just walking through the door, we felt a spirit of real Christianity and friendship. The preaching was lively and true to God’s Word. We truly got a sense of how the pastor cared for his people. Nowhere else on our year-long search could we find people that were so real; people who genuinely welcomed strangers to their home and made them feel like they could be a part of the family. After one visit we were hooked, and began to get plugged into serving in the different ministries the church had to offer. It’s been several years now, and the Lord has done such a work in our hearts! He’s blessed us beyond belief with unbelievable friendships and a better walk with God than we’ve ever had before. It was here where we learned what a true relationship with our Savior was all about. No earthly circumstances can take away our joy, and we have brothers and sisters in Christ to share the journey with. Our pastor is a true man of God who loves God and His people more than we’ve ever seen anywhere else. God loves us, and we want others to learn that God loves them, too..
